The gamescom 2021 brought a brand new theme park building game to the light of day: Park Beyond. Unlike genre colleagues such as Rollercoaster Tycoon or Planet Coaster, Park Beyond focuses on heavily over-the-top rides. You are supposed to attract as many people as possible to your theme park with creative (even crazy) ideas.

The trailer shows a roller coaster in which visitors are catapulted through the air in small shuttles. The story premise of the game makes it clear: classic roller coasters are yesterday’s news. To get people excited about your park, you need attractions that have never existed before.

With this bold approach, Japanese publisher Bandai Namco and German developer Limbic Entertainment are trying to leave their own mark in the rollercoaster management genre. Limbic most recently realised the successful Tropico 6.

Park Beyond does not yet have a concrete release date. But at least a rough one: the construction game is scheduled for release in 2022 for PC, Xbox Series XS and PlayStation 5.
