Gas Station Simulator

In Gas Station Simulator you live through the American dream – but in a rather funny and entertaining way.

From good-for-nothing to petrol station attendant: What has certainly become difficult in reality, you can re-enact in Gas Station Simulator since 15 September. But always keep in mind: it’s dusty, it’s stressful and in the end you might even have fun. Why? We’ll tell you in this weekend’s simulation tip.

As a petrol station operator somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the USA, you don’t have to be a hardcore simulation gamer. The everyday simulation is kept very beginner-friendly by simplified mechanics, the simulation part is kept within limits and yet does not take a back seat.

A petrol station to enslave you

In Gas Station Simulator you become the proud owner of your own petrol station. But you’re actually just taking it over from your uncle, who’s into … let’s say “shady business”. Without wanting to spoil the story at this point, this much can be revealed: Your uncle has a split personality and is sometimes super nice to you, only to bring you back down to earth with tough demands.

There used to be a petrol station here: At the beginning, your new home in the desert is completely run down. Your only friend is Rudy, a front-end loader that you use to remove the sand mountains on your property so that you can later place car parks and new buildings there.

You take over a run-down petrol station and spruce it up.

In the simulation, you don’t just take care of filling up cars, but also take on all the other tasks that arise: Requesting tankers, renovation work, replenishing stocks and much, much more. In the course of the story, new tasks will be added that will challenge you anew.

Mini-games for in-between

Yes, mini-games can be really frustrating. In Gas Station Simulator, however, the frustration is kept within limits. You complete most of the tasks through mini-games, but they are fun. When pumping petrol, you have to hit the right spot and receive a tip depending on your speed and accuracy.

In the petrol station building itself you set up shelves of goods, which can become very extensive depending on your skill level. At the beginning, you only sell soft drinks and snacks, but later on you can even sell “luxury goods” – at least from the perspective of a petrol station shop.

The mini-games in Gas Station Simulator are entertaining and add variety.

As soon as a customer wants to buy something from the shop, you complete another mini-game in which you drag the goods from the conveyor belt to the scanner and then into the shopping basket. Again, the faster and more accurate you are, the happier the customer will be and the more tips they will give you.

When skills are put to the test: To avoid spoilers, we won’t reveal why the satisfaction of your customers plays a big role. Just this: the best customers are happy customers. And you want to attract the best customers to your petrol station.

Living the American Dream

Of course, you’re not happy with just one pump – after all, you’re living the American dream. And how do you live that dream? By expanding and, once expanded, making new plans for future expansions. You can see what this might look like in the trailer for the simulation:

In the end, this means one thing above all: more profit! And so you run from one task to the next. You accept deliveries of goods, open the valves to fill the petrol supply, pump petrol for customers, serve them at the cash register afterwards and as if that wasn’t enough, there are even more tasks:

  • Cleaning the salesroom
  • Cleaning the toilets
  • Cleaning of … everything else

It quickly becomes apparent that not every simulation is the same and the term “simulator” is used inflationarily in some cases.

Who is Gas Station Simulator interesting for?

The Gas Station Simulator mixes House Flipper with Train Station Renovation and refines it with the appropriate management component. The everyday simulation is interesting for players who don’t place too much value on a gripping story or linear gameplay.

By the way, the Mafia is also represented in Gas Station Simulator.

You decide which tasks you take on and when, and after the tutorial the game noticeably takes the pressure off you. The tasks also no longer feel too stressful after this point. On Steam, Gas Station Simulator is rated “very positive”. On 17 September 2021, 85 percent of the 750 reviews are positive. Until 22 September you can get the simulation for just under 15 euros directly on Steam
