Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s signature hand gesture finds itself in FIFA 22, costing his team a goal against.
Manuel Neuer of FC Bayern München is known for constantly raising his arm in dangerous situations on the pitch. By doing so, the goalkeeper signals that his opponents would always be offside.
Rather rarely do the referees agree with him. Apparently, the programmers at EA Sports have incorporated the quirk of the 2014 World Champion into FIFA.

Visible in a Reddit post from last Friday. A wave of attack moves towards Neuer’s goal. The first shot hits the crossbar, then the ball comes back to the opponent, who tries a follow-up shot. The shot is caught in the legs of the defenders. Neuer now casually raises his arm because he sees an opponent offside on the right. But a teammate on the left behind him picks it up.
Game stopped
While the other players are still in the game, Neuer is so sure of himself that he stops play. So the opponent has an easy time with the second follow-up shot and can push the ball into the empty goal unmolested.
This was certainly a frustrating moment for the defender, because Manuel Neuer scrapes many an unstoppable shot off the line with his reflexes. But he needs both arms to hold the ball and less to complain.
