The PS5 game Ride 4 has become a minor internet sensation. This is thanks to a viral video that uses deceptively real graphics to make motorcyclists sweat.

When asked how real the graphics should look, the developers of Ride 4 probably answered yes. At least, this is the impression given by a video of the racing game, which was already published in 2020. Because with the highest graphics settings on the PS5, in 4K and at 60fps, the motorbike title looks outrageously real.

Real or just really good graphics?

Origin of the little internet phenomenon represents a YouTube video of the channel Joy Of Gaming Since its release on 19 September 2021, the clip has generated almost three million views. No wonder, the footage looks really outrageously good and makes you doubt whether it is a GoPro video after all.

Behind the wheel of a motorbike, for example, there is a real feeling of speed, while the game world is reflected in wet or metal surfaces. Of course, the realistic look of the dashboard and the side mirrors only benefit this. But it’s best to take a look at the video for yourself:

The hype surrounding the recording has undoubtedly been contributed to by various down- and uploads on other sites and social networks. After all, this often results in small but subtle graphic errors that give the shots an even more realistic, because dirtier, touch.

Yup…this is a game called Ride 4 on PS5 not real life. from nextfuckinglevel

What kind of game is Ride 4 anyway? Ride 4 is a motorbike racing game that was originally released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in late 2020. It was later upgraded to the NextGen consoles Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

What is exciting, of course, is that the video was not subsequently polished or enhanced. According to Joy of Gaming, the footage was shot on a Playstation 5 with the highest graphics settings in 4K HDR and at 60 fps.

To be fair, however, it should be mentioned that the footage is a replay – so it is only partly real gameplay. Although Ride 4 can also be played in the first-person perspective, the head and camera perspectives are not as smooth.

Only those who are tired of life drive like this

In addition to YouTube, the video for Ride 4 also attracted a lot of attention on Reddit and Twitter. Numerous users expressed surprise that the clips were just a video and not a real GoPro recording

Motorcyclists, however, quickly smelled a rat: According to them, in the weather conditions depicted in the video, only the world-weary would ride so aggressively and would not stand too much of a chance of surviving such a joyride.

What do you think of the video of Ride 4 on Playstation 5: Did the footage impress you comparably? Or does it leave you cold? Let us know in the comments!
