eFootball and FIFA 22 can only dream of so much realism

Rush Football 2 Match

The urge for photorealism is present in sports simulations like FIFA and eFootball. But Rush Football 2 does it much better.

Although the video “Rush Football 2 Match” already caused a stir on YouTube six years ago, the clip is still up-to-date. That’s because the fluid gameplay animation puts Inspired Entertainment’s football simulation ahead of popular video games FIFA and eFootball.

“More than a game.” That’s the promise developer Inspired makes with the betting-focused Rush Football 2. Regardless of the target audience, these visuals would suit any football manager game perfectly. Even the top dogs of football simulations would get another popularity boost from realistic gameplay like this.

With FIFA competitor eFootball, it’s well known that developer Konami is looking to move more and more towards photorealism. While predecessor PES and EA Sports’ FIFA series are on a high level of simulation, they only ventured into photorealistic movements to a limited extent. The video of Rush Football 2, however, shows a virtual equivalent of football with movements that are barely distinguishable from reality.

Unfortunately, Rush Football 2 is not playable. It is a simulator via browser, which only serves the purpose of real-money betting.
