How to play Feelinara

Feelinara is the next Pokémon to join the battle in Pokémon Unite. Here’s how best to play Feelinara

The pink fairy Pokémon Feelinara (Sylveon) has been happily romping through Pokémon Unite since this Wednesday. The best moves, items and playstyles for Feelinara.

Feelinara’s Playstyle

One of the most important goals with Feelinara is to dish out as much damage as possible. After all, the cute fairy Pokémon was designed as a Special Attacker. It is played similarly to Alola Vulnona. The big difference, however, is that Feelinara’s moves include some support elements that allow it to keep itself alive and survive longer in battles.

Teams with Feelinara usually follow strategies to keep the Fairy Pokémon alive as long as possible so that it deals as much damage as possible. This plays the Pokémon in the defensive line. Feelinara also has some hedging built into the various moves, which can be used to dodge certain abilities of opponents.

The Best Wearable Items for Feelinara

Feelinara focuses completely on damage and wants to increase it as much as possible, items should be chosen accordingly. Choice Specs is a very good choice for this, while Wise Glasses boost the Pokémon’s special attack even further. The third slot leaves you free. Buddy Barrier is always a solid option, in some matches Shell Bell also works very well. As usual, the Eject Button should be chosen as the Battle Item.

Best move choices for Sylveon

Feelinara’s moveset differs from other Special Attackers by higher sustain and utility.

Starting Moves

Swift (Level 1 or 3): Shoots stars at enemies dealing damage.
Baby-Doll Eyes (Level 1 or 3): Deals damage and reduces attack and movement speed of enemy Pokémon.

First Move Slot

Mystical Fire (Level 4): Causes four flames to go forward, shooting towards opponents. Their special attack is also reduced. Each hit reduces the cooldown of the move.
Hyper Voice (Level 4): Several sound waves fly towards the opponent. The further away the opponent is, the more damage is caused. Damage is built up with successive hits.

To use Feelinara most effectively, the Level 4 move must be combined with the Level 6 move. While both options are acceptable choices, the combination increases effectiveness immensely.

Second Move Slot

Draining Kiss (Level 6): Throws a kiss at an opponent, bouncing between the opponent and Feelinara. Deals damage and reduces the opponent’s movement speed while Feelinara is healed.

Calm Mind (Level 6): Increases special attack, special defence and movement speed for a short duration.

If Mystical Fire was chosen before, Draining Kiss should now be chosen, as both moves work very well together and allow you to safely go deeper into the fight and deal damage. Those who prefer Hyper Voice should then choose Calm Mind, as the boost increases the damage extremely.

UNITE -Move

Fairy Frolic (Level 8): Feelinara jumps into the air and briefly becomes unattackable. Causes AOE damage on landing and regenerates HP. After the move is used, part of the damage caused is converted into HP.

Fairy Frolic turns Feelinara into a walking, damage-causing tank that can survive a fight very well. It can be used to either turn teamfights around and win them for you, or to push certain opponents out of the way. In some situations, Fairy Frolic can also be used to dodge and re-engage a specific enemy attack.
