New event in FUT 22.

A new image including countdown adorns the loading screen of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. This means that we can look forward to a new event – the Road to the Knockouts.

If you count down the loading screen in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team you will come to Friday the 15th of October at 7 pm. So on this evening we can expect three new special maps.

If you want to afford special cards you need some coins, but you can also earn them in the game.

Road to the Finals

As you can see in our FIFA 22 event calendar, there was already a similar event last year, namely “Road to the Finals” (RTTF). These special cards were given to players from clubs that had participated in European competitions like Champions League or Europa League.

After each  successful round, players received an upgrade of one point on their special card. Upgrades were given from reaching the knockouts (knockout round).

Road to the Knockouts

The RTTF cards came out last year in early November. In FIFA 22, EA Sports surprises us with a prequel event, the RTTK (Road to the Knockouts) cards.

These cards will be given to clubs from the European competitions Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

24 hours before release, EA Sports published the upgrade requirements via the loading screen. According to this, the RTTK cards will be able to receive two upgrades. One upgrade will be given if the club wins three out of the next four group stage matches. Another upgrade will be given if the club qualifies for the knockouts.

Which players will receive an RTTK card remains a surprise so far. But of course EA Sports doesn’t miss the chance to give a few hints.

  • A striker from the Europa League gets a RTTK card with 83 dribbles.
  • A player from the Champions League gets an 88 RTTK card with 85 shooting.
  • A Europa Conference League participant receives a 90 pace and 82 physique RTTK card.

Which players could it be? The secret will be revealed on Friday evening at 7pm.

Whether there will also be a Road to the Finals event at the end of the group stage is still unclear.
