The new deep dive trailer for Sherlock Holmes Chapter One reveals the various skills of the still young master detective. As the video footage once again shows, the young Holmes primarily uses the means of deduction to solve his case. However, his inexperience sometimes leads him astray. What consequences this has for the further course of the story is Sherlock’s problem alone.
Of Missteps and Justice
But the shrewd Sherlock Holmes has a few more aces up his sleeve. The changes in his appearance allow him to contact various people who might otherwise never have spoken to him. This allows him to obtain selected information and thus gather further evidence. Sherlock records this evidence in his memory palace, a kind of mental whiteboard that allows him to combine the different pieces of evidence. Even when putting these pieces of the evidence puzzle together, the budding master detective can make a mistake and come to the wrong conclusion. How serious this can be depends on the situation.
Last but not least, we should mention the differences between truth and justice in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. These two virtues do not always go hand in hand, which is why Sherlock will often find himself in moral dilemmas. In various situations he will have to decide whether to let mercy go before justice and let the “guilty” get away with it once again.
On 16 November, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One will be released for PC, Xbox Series X-S and PlayStation 5, with versions for last-gen consoles also due at a later date.
