Since the PlayStation 5 Reveal, gamers have been eagerly awaiting the release of the console. We’ll show you what games you can look forward to with the next generation.
Little by little, the list of reasons why the PS5 could become a must-have is filling up. Here you can see the confirmed game highlights in our gallery.
Assassins Creed Valhalla – Ubisoft Montreal | Release: 17.11.20 | The twelfth part of the Assassin saga takes you to the world of the Vikings. Unlike its predecessors there will be no naval battles this time! Instead you’ll be able to conquer whole castles with the Nordic warriors.
Bright Memory Infinite – FYQD Studio | Release: Late 2020 | The Asian-based action FPS is largely developed by a single person. Nevertheless, both the gameplay and the game world look very sophisticated and make you want to do more.
Chivalry 2 – Tripwire Interactive | Release: 2020 | After the success of the first part of the online knightly battles, a long-awaited successor will be released this year. Battles with up to 64 players and an even better battle system await you.
DEATHLOOP – Arkane Studios | Release: End of 2020 | DEATHLOOP doesn’t just happen to feel familiar somehow. The developers of the singleplayer series Dishonored are getting ready for their next prank here. Nevertheless, the new game comes with an innovative basic idea and interesting story around the assassin Colt.
Destiny 2 – Bungie | Release: 2020 | The successful second part of the sci-fi MMO Destiny gets a port to the new generation. Of course you can look forward to the complete game including all expansions!
Dirt 5 – Codemasters Cheshire | Release: 06.10.20 | The racing game series Dirt from developer studio Codemasters now has a large fanbase. Part five will be a bit more arcade-heavy than the rally offshoots. So you get more colour and more crazy tracks to race over. The Next Gen versions will probably take a little longer than the PC and Current Gen releases.
Dying Light 2 – Techland | Release: 2020 | Actually the zombie action RPG Dying Light was a very good game. Too bad that it was indexed in Germany. Also the second part now gets problems with the USK and could only be released censored. Nevertheless you can expect a thrilling Open World game with very free movement.
Far Cry 6 – Ubisoft Toronto | Release: 18.02.21 | The successful concept of the Far Cry series should be known so far. In the sixth part you hunt the president of the tropical paradise Yara.
GTA V – Rockstar Games | Release: 2nd half 2021 | The Open World gangster game is the third most successful game of all time. With the port to PlayStation 5 it is already represented on three console generations.
Godfall – Counterplay Games | Release: Late 2020 | The action RPG throws you into the world of Aperion, where you must fight your way through hordes of enemies, especially in melee combat. The gameplay looks very fluid and the design of the end bosses impresses so far.
Gods & Monsters – Ubisoft Quebec | Release: 25.02.2020 | A new project from Ubisoft that promises a lot: Gods & Monsters reminds of Breath of the Wild. The setting, however, is more based on Greek mythology.
Gran Turismo 7 – Polyphony Digital | Release: TBA | The Gran Turismo racing game series continues on the PS5. Some features of the older parts seem to return, like the menu from part four.
Horizon Forbidden West – Guerilla Games | Release: 2021 | The exclusive PlayStation single player hit Horizon Zero Dawn gets a successor on the next generation. Forbidden West sends the machine hunter Aloy to California, where many new mechanical opponents are waiting for her. Not much is known about the exact story so far.
JETT: The Far Shore – Superbrothers, Pine Scented Software | Release: 2020 | The trailer for the game is mysterious. What is clear, however, is that JETT: The Far Shore will send you on a journey between planets to save your people. How exactly the gameplay will look like remains to be seen.
Kena: Bridge Of Spirits – Ember Lab | Release: 2020 | The action-adventure of the developer studio Ember Lab sends you into a fantastic looking game world, which you as Kena have to save from a kind of disintegration. Thereby you have to face various enemies and puzzles, but you will also get little helpers.
Madden NFL 21 – EA Tiburon | Release: 25.08.2020 | As with most sports simulations, a new part for the new year awaits you in Madden. The American Football game brings new player ratings and will look better than its predecessors.
Marvels Avengers – Crystal Dynamics | Release: 04.09.2020 | Five years after the Avengers were crushed, the world needs a new superhero force. That’s where the story of the new action adventure starts, which Square Enix is supposed to release in September. You will be able to play different heroes and start MMO-like missions. The main story will still be in single player mode.
NBA 2K21 – Visual Concepts | Release: 04.09.20 | The newest part of the basketball franchise will use the new ray tracing technique for the first time. So you can hit the basket with more aesthetic dunks than ever before.
Observer: System Redux – Bloober Team | Release: End of 2020 | The horror game Observer gets a complete revision for the new consoles. The dystopian cyberpunk world will be graphically enhanced and new story sections will be added.
Oddworld: Soulstorm – Oddworld Inhabitants | Release: 2020 | The Oddworld series has been around since 1997, and the latest installment of the 2.5D platformers will once again throw you into very tricky levels to save the fate of your people.
Outriders – People Can Fly | Release: December 2020 | The third-person shooter Outriders is graphically strongly reminiscent of Destiny. In contrast to the MMO, however, the new game will be a story game with a clear end. Interesting is the approach of the dynamic difficulty levels, which probably adapt to the player during the game. The focus will clearly be on the single player.
Planet Coaster – Frontier Developments | Release: End 2020 | The amusement park simulation Planet Coaster will also get a port for the latest generation. Whether the paid DLCs will also be included is still unknown.
Rainbow Six: Victories – Ubisoft Montreal | Release: 2020 | Since 2015 the tactical shooter from Ubisoft is a successful Esports title. Now a version for the PS5 will be released. Nevertheless, the different versions should be compatible and be able to play online with each other.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – Insomniac Games | Release: TBA | The Ratchet & Clank saga finally continues with the PS5. The third-person action-adventure throws you into a wacky game world, in which the dimensions seem to collapse. This game will also make use of the ray-tracing technique.
Resident Evil: Village – Capcom | Release: 2021 | The official eighth part of the Resident Evil series awaits you. This time, the horror is set in a farming village at the foot of a sinister castle. Of course, well-known characters like Chris Redfield will be part of the series.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure – Sumo Digital | Release: Late 2020 | Unlike earlier parts, Sackboy will run and jump through real 3D levels in his own adventure on the PS5. In classic Little Big Planet style, cuddly opponents and little puzzles await you in between.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Insomniac Games | Release: 2020 | Matching the last movie, the new Spider-Man will now jump across your home screens and swing through house clefts. Besides the usual spider skills, the first trailer shows new powers that don’t seem quite typical for the hero.
Vampires: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 – Hardsuit Labs | Release: 2020 | This action RPG has a much darker twist. In Seattle a war has broken out between different factions of vampires. Even the trailer seems very grotesque and the game doesn’t seem to save on Gore.
Watch Dogs: Legion – Ubisoft Toronto | Release: 29.10.20 | After already Watch Dogs 2 was a clear improvement of the first part, the third part of the Open World adventure will be released soon. Again in Legion you hack your way through the city of London to get closer to your goals as a DedSec member.
WRC 9 – Kylotonn | Release: 03.09.2020 | While Dirt is taking a rally break, WRC 9, the improved successor of the official FIA World Rally Championship series, comes to the new console. With Kenya, New Zealand and Japan the game also brings you three completely new venues.
