Bad news for fans: CD Projekt Red pushes the next patches for the shooter role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 into the year 2022.

Apparently, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 fell behind with their schedules. As the recently updated roadmap on the (official website) shows, the bump to version 1.31 was the last update of 2021, with the next patches and also planned free DLCs not appearing until 2022.

The news is not entirely unexpected, after all CD Projekt Red already pushed the next-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 to the first quarter of next year. Nevertheless, some fans who had expected further improvements and content before the end of the year may be disappointed by the postponement.

But there is no shadow without a ray of hope: After all, the developers justify the next-gen postponement with their own requirement to get it right. After all, bug-free updates are in the interest of the community, which is already taking a critical look at the developments after the problem-ridden release.

Take precautions

Developer CD Projekt Red had apologised to players after the much-criticised release of Cyberpunk 2077 and promised to fix the game’s technical problems (especially on last-gen consoles). The PC version also improved steadily over the months.

However, all this could hardly alleviate the disappointment of many fans. Apparently, the developers are now intent on working particularly carefully. In this case, this manifests itself in a postponed roadmap.

Postponements are annoying, but often make for a better product in the end. Which games were postponed in 2021 is shown in our overview article, which we have linked for you above.
