Publisher EA and developer DICE explain that the release of Battlefield 2042 merely marks the starting point for the game. In the first year after release, specifically in 2022, four seasons are to take place. The first season will bring a new Specialist, a Battle Pass full of cosmetic stuff and new content for the Portal mode. In the course of the seasons, new maps and twists in the story will also provide variety.
