FIFA 22 TOTW 9

Youngster Mbappé as well as the two experienced players Kane and Lewandowski put on a real show last week. Will all three make it into the TOTW?

After an intense week of internationals, filled mostly with qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the ninth team of the week in FIFA 22 is already on the schedule on Wednesday. While the clashes have been largely one-sided, we can still expect good cards for sure.

Prediction for TOTW 9

Top candidates for week 9

  • Robert Lewandowski (FC Bayern Munich, Poland) – 93
  • Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain, France) – 92
  • Harry Kane Recordbreaker (Tottenham Hotspurs, England) – 91
  • Luka Modrić (Real Madrid, Croatia) – 88

This week, Poland star Robert Lewandowski kicks things off. The striker was involved in three of the four goals in Poland’s 4-1 win over Andorra last Friday. Poland is now second in the group behind England and still has every chance of qualifying for the World Cup. After Lewandowski had already been conspicuous in the Bayern dress and was able to collect many scorer points, it would now finally be the deserved first inform for him.

The L’Equipe Tricolore around youngster Kylian Mbappé invited to a real shooting match. In the home match against group losers Kazakhstan, the current defending champions scored eight goals and kept a clean sheet at the back (final score 8:0). Mbappé scored a hat-trick in the first 32 minutes of the game and topped it off with another goal and an assist in the second half. The long wait for an Inform Mbappé will almost certainly come to an end on Wednesday.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane also scored a perfect hat-trick in England’s 5-0 win over Albania. In addition, he replaced record goalscorer Wayne Rooney, who held the record for most competitive goals with 37. Kane is now not only at the top of Group I with the Three Lions, but also tops another list. If EA wants to reward this record accordingly, we could enjoy a recordbreaker card for Harry Kane on Wednesday.

World Cup finalists Croatia were already able to record an unchallenged 1:7 victory over Malta on Thursday. Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramaric and Europe’s Footballer of the Year 2018 Luka Modric provided the offensive momentum and creative ideas. Both showed a strong game and collected strong scorer points. It is therefore very difficult to say who will make it in the end and get a place in the team of the week. One of the two is very likely to be there.
