(Go to offer)

If you haven’t ridden into the Wild West of Desperados 3 by now, it’s high time you did. The real-time tactics game from the German developers Mimimi Games is the best the genre has to offer since Commandos 2.

What kind of game is Desperados 3 anyway? Mimimi Games has already delivered a strong representative of the genre of real-time tactics with Shadow Tactics, and Desperados 3 is in the same vein. With up to five different characters, we fight our way through 16 Wild West levels and are provided with quite diverse gameplay.

For example, we can sneak, shoot or trick and in return we are provided with quite multifaceted game characters – in terms of their personalities as well as their playful strengths and weaknesses. Among the many highlights of Desperados 3 are also the very detailed areas, the atmospheric music and the strong narrators. Only the story is a little disappointing – but this does not detract from the high replay value of Desperados 3.

Thrilling Strategy Games in Steam Fall Sale

Which reduced strategy games you should also keep an eye out for in the Steam Autumn Sale can be found in the following list:

Star Wars: Empire at War: Play Emperor for once? Free the galaxy from the iron grip of the Empire or crush the pesky Rebel Alliance in sweeping tactical battles. (65 percent off)

Troy: A Total War Saga: Spin-off of the Total War series, which focuses on the conflict over the ancient city of Troy. (25 percent discount)

XCOM 2: In turn-based tactical battles, we try to chase alien invaders off Earth as the commander of a resistance group. Better, but not necessarily braver than its predecessor. (90% off)

Command and Conquer: Remastered Collection: collection of true strategy classics in a new graphics guise, also bringing gameplay updates and upgrades. (50 percent discount)

Frostpunk: Modern classic that mixes up the well-worn strategy concept with steampunk influences and, most importantly, serious moral choices. (70 percent discount)

Two Point Hospital: Not-so-serious hospital simulator that stands out from the competition with plenty of humour and creative ideas. (66 percent discount)

Iron Harvest: Real-time strategy from Bremen-based developer studio King Art Games, which mixes up the World War I scenario with mechs and an alternate history. (50 percent discount)

Northgard: Here we guide Vikings to a new homeland – or at least try to. Playful parallels to The Settlers meet Norse mythology. (60 percent discount)

Gears Tactics: This is where Gears of War meets XCOM. We take a couple of bullnecks through battle and get lots and lots of fan service from the Gears series. (75 percent off)

Wasteland 3: A little bit role-playing, a little bit real-time strategy. Wasteland is a spiritual successor to the Ur-Fallouts – and appropriately complex. (67 percent discount)

Tropico 6: As dictator of a fictional island state, we build and manage our own empire in the style of Anno 1800. Tropico 6 captivates with its island charm and black humour. (50 percent discount)
