Dr Disrespect’s new studio, Midnight Society, is home to former Call of Duty and Halo developers. Together they want to produce AAA titles.

Streamer and content creator Dr Disrespect launched his own game studio “Midnight Society” on Tuesday. He is joined by Robert Bowling, former creative strategist for Call of Duty, and Quinn Delhoyo, multiplayer designer for Halo 5. On his “Champion Club” website, Dr Disrespect is currently looking for co-founders and game directors, among others. The goal of the project is to build a “AAA game studio”. The studio has also been officially launched on social networks such as Twitter.

Before his career on Twitch and YouTube, Dr Disrespect already worked as a game designer for Sledgehammer Games. Herschel “Guy” Beahm, as his real name is, created several maps for the Call of Duty series, especially for CoD: Advanced Warfare. Even when he worked as a full-time streamer, the doc remained true to game design and created, among other things, the map “The Champions Club” in the multiplayer shooter Rogue Company.

With Midnight Society, Dr Disrespect is now venturing a clear step back into the games industry. His company says it wants to pursue a “day zero” approach: This means that players and influencers should have access to the studio’s games from the very beginning of the development process. In this way, they are to be given a large share in the development of the titles.

The previous staff of Mignight Games consists of employees from Call of Duty, Halo and Gears of War and thus has a lot of expertise in the field of first-person shooters. The studio is also supported by Sumit Gupta, the founder of BoomTV. The company specialises in organising tournaments and had previously worked with Dr Disrespect. Concrete plans for upcoming games have not yet been shared.

Fans can follow the happenings around the studio on (Twitter), as well as the (official website). Back in June, Dr Disrespect announced that he was fed up with Call of Duty and would like to develop a competing game himself.
