The Double Barrel Shotgun is an overpowered weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case for much longer.

Raven Software announced on Twitter on Thursday that the Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun will soon be going down. In recent weeks, the weapon has dominated the battlefield in Warzone.

Over the course of Season 1, the weapon’s strengths were discovered, allowing enemies to be easily eliminated at close range with just one shot. This has already earned the Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun the title as arguably the most powerful weapon ever in Warzone. Furthermore, the use of this OP gun is now considered toxic by the players.

Now that Raven Software has returned from its break over the holidays, it was announced early to address some changes and issues in Warzone. On 5 January, a first update was released, which, among other things, solved an annoying bug on an operator skin. For the near future, the developers seem to have set their sights on the Double Barrel Shotgun. Raven Software is aware of the overpowered nature of the weapon and intends to take action against it accordingly.
