The latest patch in Call of Duty: Vanguard has some nerfs up its sleeve. The Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun is once again in trouble.

Developer Sledgehammer Games released an update for Call of Duty: Vanguard on Thursday. One weapon type in particular is in focus in the patch notes – the shotgun. These guns receive toning down in Vanguard.

The Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun has long been considered vastly overpowered in Call of Duty: Vanguard. In addition to the massive damage, the weapon still has very good range and thus struck a chord with the players. However, the Double Barrel’s dominant time could be over after the latest update. Sledgehammer Games is nerfing the shotgun and reducing the damage in the process.

In addition, the attachments of the Double Barrel will be adapted. The Buck and Slug was responsible for the weapon being able to deal out enormous damage even at a long distance. With the latest update in Vanguard, the range of the attachment was reduced. Furthermore, there seemed to have been a bug with the Buck and Slug where players:inside received a headshot bonus when the limb was hit.

However, the players:inside can not only look forward to nerfs of the shotguns and attachments, but also the killstreak has been adjusted with the update in Call of Duty: Vanguard. A bug was fixed where some people could not maintain the killstreak between rounds. In addition, an exploit was removed where users were getting infinite ammo through the series.
