Whoever thought that there wouldn’t be much more happening in the Hello Games and No Man’s Sky camp was mistaken. Because the studio has confirmed in its latest announcement that there will still be a lot of new updates. This includes the latest free expansion, which is named after the most annoying gardener in the universe: the Sentinel.

The Sentinel update of No Man’s Sky mainly contains various adjustments to the combat system. Especially battle-hardened travellers will benefit from new weapons and equipment. Already existing weapons have been graphically embellished and extended by some features. Now burn and stun effects can be added. In addition, travellers can equip their weapon individually and thus increase the damage. Those who want to retreat will benefit from the new camouflage device.
Finally, travellers can assemble new friends in the form of a Robotic Companion. Those who are more risky on the road can also grab a Sentinel Hardframe and reprogram it. Those who prefer organic friends probably got their money’s worth with the Companions update a year ago.

Will there be sentinels in this update?

Of course, No Man’s Sky’s Sentinel update isn’t just about helpful new features for travellers. The drone that gives the game its name has also received a host of new features. New lore, for example, expands knowledge about the Sentinels and explains how they came to be. In addition, the robo-antagonists can be divided into four new classes: Heavies, Medics, Summoners and Exo-Mech.
Along with this, the developers introduce a new enemy: The Sentinel Hardframe Mech. Equipped with lasers, powerful grenades and a plasma-powered flamethrower, these new enemies are pure killing machines. In addition, they are capable of catapulting themselves across the battlefield with a jetpack.

Embedded in a new network of missions and stories, the No Man’s Sky Sentinel Update offers a good opportunity to dive into the vastness of space once more. Developer Hello Games promises that there is much more to come this year.
