The French developer studio Hibernian Workshop announces that the pixel platformer Astral Ascent is now in Steam Early Access. Over the course of the next few months, the rogue-lite will not only be expanded with several features. There is also a console release planned.

Four heroes are trapped in the garden. However, this is not an idyllic spot on earth, but an astral prison controlled by 12 guards. These so-called Zodiacs reside in four different worlds. Only when the heroes have tracked down and defeated the Zodiacs can they escape from their prison. This is the plot of Astral Ascent, a 2D platformer that is now in Early Access in a light version.

The 12 Guardians of Astral Ascent are inspired by the astrological signs of the zodiac. In the current Early Access version, you can already get to know five of them (Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, Leo and Sagittarius) in two explorable worlds. For the time being, you only fight against them with the assassin Ayla or the fighter Kiran. Gain strength by unlocking dozens of spells and gambits as you play. The customisable skills give you numerous ways to raze your enemies to the ground. If the challenge is too much for you alone, you can explore the pixel world together with friends in local co-op mode or online.

Astral Ascent is available in (Steam Early Access) for just under 20 euros. So far, the rogue-lite has received positive reviews from 28 players
