The Ranked Season of Diablo 2: Resurrected will start soon. With the release of patch 2.4, the ladder is just around the corner. We’ve got the patch notes for you.

Since its release in September 2021, fans of Diablo 2: Resurrected have been waiting for a very special feature: The leaderboard. So far, there has been no ranked season in the remake of the classic action role-playing game – but that will soon change. With the release of the big patch 2.4 for Diablo: Resurrected, there is now a start date for the first ladder as well as extensive patch notes. It’s all set to go in a fortnight!

More information about the scope of patch 2.4 and the major balance changes can be found here:

All info about the ladder in Diablo 2: Resurrected

The ladder of Diablo 2: Resurrected will start on 29 April 2022 according to the current plan. However, those who want to get started in the first few minutes should set an alarm clock: The starting signal falls in Europe at 2 a.m. in the night.

As in Diablo 2, there will be a total of four different ranked modes in Diablo 2: Resurrected. These are divided as follows:

  • Classic Ladder: The classic version of the ladder with four acts.
  • Classic Hardcore Ladder: The hardcore version of the ladder with four acts, where you only have 1 life.
  • Expansion Ladder: The classic ladder that has five acts as the content from Lord of Destruction is implemented.
  • Hardcore Ladder Expansion: The hardcore version of the expansion ladder with five acts, where you once again only have 1 life.

Those who want to participate in the ladder should note that you have to create a new character for the season. This character will only be playable in the ladder during the season. Only after the end of the season will your ladder character become a non-ranked character and keep his equipment and other items.

In addition, you will then have time to bring your items from the shared loot chest of the ladder into the normal online game. In the current case, this means that after the end of Season 1, you have until the start of Season 3 to secure your items. If you miss the deadline, the items in the chest will be lost forever.

Diablo 2: What else does patch 2.4 bring?

The changes are quite extensive and a detailed review would go beyond the scope of a news item at this point.

In addition to the individual class changes, there are also new rune words for the ladder, new recipes for the Horadrim cube, some bug fixes and much more. For the individual changes we refer again to the patch notes!

Patch 2.4 not only brings the ladder to Diablo 2: Resurrected, but also includes a lot of balance changes – the first since 2010! Almost all classes are affected, although the developers stress that they should lead to more diversity and not restrict current builds.
