With Until Dawn, we already felt like we were experiencing less of a horror game and more of a horror movie. Now Supermassive is expanding on that feature even further. For The Quarry, over 1000 pages of script were written, 50 of which had to be shot per day. This mass of text is of course also made up of the numerous decisions you have to make for the nine playable characters in the course of the game. This wealth of plot options means that you can experience a total of 178 different endings.

Another reason for the cinematic feel of The Quarry are the various settings you can make before starting the game. These include modes such as “All survive” or “All die”. On the other hand, you can set how much you want your game experience to resemble a film. For example, you have the option to turn off the search for clues and evidence. You can also assign certain characteristics such as “clumsy” or “antagonistic” to the nine playable characters. In this way, you become the director yourself.
If you don’t want to experience the horror alone, you can play The Quarry via couch co-op or online together with other people.

The Quarry will be released on 10 June for PC, Xbox and PlayStation. We’ll provide you with more gameplay footage and an introduction to the setting until then. Those who want to pre-order can do so on the (official website).
