The men are not the only successful esports players. The women also have strong teams and players.

The women’s CS:GO esports scene has grown on Wednesday. BIG announced its team EQUIPA on Twitter. Compared to the men, the women are still quite unknown in the esport scene. However, there are already some successful female teams and esport players who have made a name for themselves like their male colleagues.

The Berlin organisation BIG announced its first women’s team in CS:GO on Wednesday. Under the name BIG EQUIPA, Aida “Aida” Simão, Jennifer Irina “JennyR” Brea Rodriguez, Ana “ZAna-th” Queiroz, Aida “Aidy” García Cortés and Marta “D7” Asensio will compete with other teams in the shooter. The Spanish-Portuguese formation had already been playing together since 2020 under the name “Equipa” before BIG signed them.

BIG EQUIPA makes its first appearance in the ESL Impact League Season 1 finals in Dallas, where the elite female Counter-Strike teams will face off starting Monday. Among them is world number one CLG Red, who dominate the scene especially in America. Nigma Galaxy Female will also be among the participants, who currently occupy the top spot in CS:GO in the European region.

In addition to Counter-Strike, women’s teams are playing successfully in VALORANT. G2 Gozen recently won the VCT Game Changers EMEA and took first place. Successful Esport player Zainab “zAAz” Turkie was an integral part of team G2 Gozen until her retirement from the competitive scene in May. She looks back on a successful career of almost 20 years in total.

In addition, Sasha “Scarlett” Hostyn is one of the most successful esports players. The StarCraft 2 player has also successfully stood up to male opponents during her career. In a tournament in Las Vegas in 2012, she left them all behind. In addition, she was the first woman to win an ESL Major title in 2018.
