Team chemistry has been part of the Ultimate Team mode since the release of FIFA 09. However, the mechanics could reportedly change in the upcoming title.

The successor to FIFA 22 will be released this year for the last time under the famous name. But before it moves on to the new EA Sports FC title, the FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) mode is said to be undergoing a major change in team chemistry. According to the leak from Twitter user “Weaver”, stars will be decisive for marking in the future.

Since Saturday, the FIFA scene has been eagerly discussing the team chemistry function, which is decisive for optimising the performance of one’s own team in FUT mode. Because this could possibly go bye-bye, as leaker Weaver points out. He has already proven to be a trustworthy source in the past.

According to the leak there will be no more chemistry in FIFA 23. Instead, stars will be awarded to show the homogeneity of the team. Up to three stars are therefore possible.

Nationalities and leagues could become irrelevant

In addition, all nationalities and leagues should function equally among themselves. Accordingly, it would no longer be indispensable for players to belong to the same league or  in order to improve chemistry.

This would make significantly more combinations possible, which is also more in line with the core of the Ultimate Team. Suddenly, a German player from the Spanish La Liga like Champions League winner Toni Kroos could harmonise with the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Italy’s Serie A. In recent years, it is mainly cards from the Premier League and French players who have dominated – partly because of their cohesive chemistry.

Official information from EA Sports on this topic is still pending. The same applies to a presentation of the next game. However, this could change in less than a week. According to the also known leaker “Donk” Electronic Arts will announce new information about FIFA 23 on June 9th. It seems conceivable that next week Thursday during the Summer Game Fest a little more light could be brought into the darkness.
