While Half-Life Alyx: Levitation won’t be Half-Life 3, it will continue the story of the main game.
Will Half-Life 3 ever see the light of day? Or will the project fail because of Gabe Newell’s inability to count to three? You won’t find any answers here, but at least there is news from the Half-Life universe, and that’s something!
Thanks to the levitation mod for Half-Life: Alyx, the craving for headcrabs and other mutants could be satisfied in the best way possible, which is: more of the same! The fan-made mod for the VR hit has at least whetted the appetite for more with its seven-minute gameplay trailer:
Alyx has to save the day again
What will it be about? The mod deals with the events directly after the end of the main game. We play Alyx again, who receives a signal from the resistance fighters Maya and Barry. They have been investigating information about a secret Combine technology in the quarantine zone. Now Alyx must find the two missing resistance fighters and take a closer look at the potential threat.
Of course, the G-Man is also back in the game and even Gordon Freeman, the protagonist from Half-Life 2, is mentioned in the gameplay trailer. Are we in for a legendary guest appearance?
How long is the story? It should be possible to play through the mod in four to five hours.
How much will the fun cost? Nothing at all! For everyone who owns Half-Life: Alyx, the mod will be playable for free.
When will Levitation be released? There is no exact release date yet. However, it should still appear in the Steam Workshop in the third quarter of this year.
What do you think of Half-Life Alyx: Levitation? Will you dig your VR glasses out of the back of your mind for it or will you rather wait longingly for a full-fledged Half-Life title?
