Aliens is freshly announced and should be especially exciting for those of you who found Alien: Isolation lacking in action.

Fresh fodder for Alien fans (and Aliens): The Xeromorph return in a single-player horror game in which you apparently not only run away from them, but also give them a good run for their money. The game, which is simply called Aliens, does not yet have a trailer. But we already know some other details!

What is known about the new Aliens game

What is it about? Aliens will be a horror game, but one with more focus on action than isolation. You play a “battle-hardened veteran” with an acute desire for revenge. The story takes place between the first and second film and tells a completely new plot line – so don’t expect the return of Ripley and co.

What platforms will it be released on? Confirmed are PC, consoles and a VR version. Since the game also runs on Unreal Engine 5, it could be Epic-exclusive, at least for a while. Whether it will only be released for the current console generation or also for Last Gen is not yet known.

Who is developing it? The developer studio Survios is working together with 20th Century Games on Aliens. You might know Survios from The Walking Dead: Onslaught, the studio has mostly developed VR titles so far.

When is release? There is still no information about when Aliens will be released. It currently seems to be in a very early stage of development, so it will probably take several years.

More info coming soon

We won’t have to wait much longer to find out more details about the Aliens game: It will be unveiled on 21 July 2022 at San Diego Comic-Con. Will we get to see a teaser trailer or at least screenshots then? We’ll let you know.

Aliens: Dark Descent, which has nothing (except the setting) to do with aliens, is scheduled for release as early as 2023. Rather, it will be a tactics game in which you lead a team of Marines into battle against Xenomorph hordes.
