Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon – New sign of life from Skyrim competitor bleeds dark fantasy mood

The ambitious open-world game reports back with a chic cinematic trailer. Whether it can follow in the imaginary footsteps of a Skyrim will soon become clear

For those who have always found Tamriel too cheerful, for whom dragons are just kids” stuff and who are also convinced that real monsters wander into the shadows, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon will probably serve them well. The rather unknown project from the development studio Awaken Realms Digital shows in the new cinematic trailer what Dark Fantasy should look like.

What we know so far

Unfortunately, exact information about the upcoming open-world game is still quite scarce. However, a few things are already known

The story takes place on the eponymous island of Avalon. After the death of King Arthur, the some desolate souls have desperately travelled to Avalon in search of a paradise, only to find a cursed place again. Possibly our protagonist is one of these failed fortune seekers.

This isn”t the first time we”ve seen something from Fall of Avalon. Already half a year ago, a short teaser trailer was released, which also shows gameplay excerpts. But just see for yourself:

A final release date is not yet known. However, the game is supposed to start in Early Access at the end of this year – but when exactly is also unclear.

What is Tainted Grail?

Tainted Grail may already be a household name for board game enthusiasts. In 2018, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon namely landed at number 1 of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in the board game category.

The dark universe has also already made it to the PC: Last year, Tainted Grail: Conquest, a deck builder with role-playing aspects, was released. Not only did it look really fancy, but it also convinced on (Steam. 91 percent positive reviews) was able to secure the game there.
