The IEM Cologne 2022 are over and the FaZe Clan took the prestigious title. The mega-event in CS:GO produced some unforgettable moments

The CS:GO mega event in Cologne has come to an end. On Sunday, the FaZe Clan was crowned the winner of IEM Cologne 2022 in the Cathedral of Counter-Strike. In addition to the title, the team secured prize money of 400,000 US dollars. On this evening, FaZe made history in a worthy final.

In the last match of the prestigious CS:GO tournament, the FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere faced each other. It was the second time this year that the two teams met in a final. Both in Cologne and at the PGL Major Antwerp in May, FaZe was able to prevail over its rival in the end. In addition, the predominantly European lineup won two more major trophies this year with the IEM Katowice 2022 and the ESL Pro League Season 15.

This makes FaZe Clan the first team in CS:GO history to win all of these prestigious titles in one year. Sunday”s thrilling final against NAVI went the full distance of five maps and was a true spectacle after a total of around seven hours until the end. FaZe won the decisive map Nuke only in the last round of regulation to 16:14 and thus to 3:2 in the best-of-five series.

It wasn”t just the fans on the ground in the cathedral city who followed the events with rapt attention. The clash of the two giants was also watched by many spectators from home. The IEM Cologne 2022 even broke the record for the most-watched CS:GO match that is not a Major match. More than 1.1 million viewers watched the spectacle in Cologne live on the streaming platform Twitch at the same time on Sunday.
