EA Sports has revealed more info about FIFA 23 on their own website in the course of the release of the Reveal trailer. But they might have made a mistake in doing so.
At the start of the promo phase for FIFA 23 EA Sports has announced the cover stars and the release of the official trailer as well as first details about the upcoming offshoot of the football simulation on their own website. But the publisher seems to have made a mistake, which fuels the rumour mill.
On the website’s info tab, fans can find out about the FUT Heroes, among other things, which will shine in a new map design and be supplemented by other well-known fan favourites. These will also receive a second version in the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar, reminiscent of “a famous appearance on the big stage”. Apparently, however, the promo is to feature another facet.
FIFA 23: EA leak causes a stir
Late last night, an image was doing the rounds on social media, emblazoned with a clearly recognisable Marvel logo alongside the FIFA 23 Heroes concept. An unintentional leak? In any case, the photo can still be accessed via Google Image Search and redirects to the FUT Heroes info text on the official EA site. So the real football players could meet actual heroes.

The Brazilian footballer Givanildo Vieira de Souza, known only as “Hulk”, has already received a card with a Marvel-type name in FUT in the past (last playable in FIFA 21). So now the question is whether we will get to see or even play a real Hulk as part of the promo…
Criticism from the FIFA community
The community showed little enthusiasm about this on the net. The seriousness of the FUT mode should not be undermined. Above all, the comparison to Fortnite was drawn, as the battle royale shooter from Epic Games is not only known for its cooperation with other franchises, but had also already entered into a partnership with Marvel.
The likelihood of EA going down a similar path, however, is likely to be relatively low. Presumably, the cooperation will only involve stadium objects in the form of tifos and crests or specially designed jerseys based on the comic heroes, i.e. cosmetic elements. Gameplay-changing cards will probably not be implemented. In November we will get the answer.
