In the Call of Duty battle royal mode Warzone, players who have been eliminated early on will have a second chance at a potential round win. The so-called Gulag was previously a fierce one-on-one battle between two players who had already died. Whoever emerged victorious from the duel was allowed to try his luck again in the actual match.

But three years after the release of Modern Warfare, developer Infinity Ward wants to provide a breath of fresh air in sequels to the Call of Duty series Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0.

After the first glimpses of the Al Mazrah desert map, the developers also revealed the first information about Warzone 2.0’s re-entry system.

According to this, players will be involved in 2-against-2 duels in “Gulag 2.0” in order to return to the battlefield. But that’s not all. In contrast to the old 1-vs-1 system, the winning team will be equipped with weapons before returning to the match. Thus, the restart is somewhat easier than the previous weaponless entry.

Another new element in the Gulag will be the so-called “Jailer”, which should provide more options and surprises.

Whether the old Gulag system will remain in place for solo rounds has not yet been clarified. If we receive further information on this topic, we will of course keep you up to date.
