Eight years have passed since the announcement of Novaquark’s Dual Universe… or into the universe. Eight long years in which the team has put on a remarkable game development show. After the servers had been shut down and prepared for the release over the last few days, the time finally came yesterday at 6 pm. Dual Universe was officially released!

Rarely, if ever, have players had so much creative power in their hands. In the persistent Dual Universe, there are no limits to the ideas. Whether it’s a base on a planet, an orbital station or a spaceship: thanks to voxel technology, players are free to put their plans into practice.

Everyone needs a ship in DU. They are the lifeblood of the universe, and those who build ships are the integral heart that keeps it beating. From small fighters to massive tugs, ships come in all shapes and sizes. Top designers can charge whopping sums for their largest creations. Sell your designs either as pre-built ships or as blueprints from which players can build the ships themselves, all protected by the state-of-the-art Digital Rights Management (DRM) system.

The vastness of the universe can be conveniently explored via the (official website) or via (Steam) . In both cases, you can expect a subscription model that will cost you between €12.99 and €9.99 per month. A free trial version (Steam) is also available, but this separates you from the actual world. You will then lose this progress when you purchase the subscription version.
