With the latest update in Warzone, many attachments have been completely revised. The silencer could be the new best choice for many situations.

Since the release of Warzone more than a year ago, there was one attachment that was mandatory on every weapon. The last unlockable muzzle attachment was always a good choice. Whether it was Monolith or Colossus silencers from Modern Warfare or GRU and Agency muzzle flash suppressors from Cold War, the extra range and staying hidden on the map made these attachments irreplaceable.

But since the latest patch, there is a new option that may be better on at least some weapons. The regular silencer from Cold War has been given a fat buff.

New Short Range Meta

Since Season 3 Reloaded, the Silencer gives you 100% cover when firing, minimally improves your ZV and bullet speed, and your sprint to fire speed. All these bonuses cost you only a few percent of your maximum damage range, which hardly makes a difference in MPs.

Very detailed stats on this are provided by Youtuber TheXclusiveAce:

With sniper rifles, on the other hand, it is not your range that deteriorates, but your aiming stability. Especially with snipers that already have a high range from the ground up, it also makes sense to change your muzzle attachment. This includes the ZRG 20mm, for example. The Kar98 and Swiss K31 can also harmonise with the fire silencer, as they are basically designed for speed and not for long ranges.

Unlike the big silencers, you will lose some range with the silencer, but your weapons will feel more mobile and faster. Another advantage is that the attachment can be unlocked much faster.
