Overwatch 2 continues to struggle with severe problems a week after release. Now two heroes have been suspended until further notice due to critical bugs.

The problems of Overwatch 2 just won’t stop: After the servers were repeatedly overloaded in the first days after the release and tens of thousands were often stuck in the queue at the same time, mobile phone forcing, connection losses and DDoS attacks caused discontent.

Now, critical bugs discovered by players in the past few days have been added to the mix.

Many characters are currently bugged

On the night of Tuesday, October 11, Blizzard announced that the heroes Torbjörn and Bastion would have to be deactivated as some of their abilities were severely bugged.

Torbjörn was able to stack the bonuses of his Overload skill, which gave him 100 health points and 30 percent more speed. To do so, one simply had to press the E key again while activating the skill, as shown in the following video:

Even more serious was the bug affecting Bastion’s Ultimate skill: This turns him into an artillery piece that can fire three shots. Due to the bug, however, he could fire an infinite number of projectiles.

How wild the whole thing looks in action is shown by Overwatch pro A_Seagull:

Blizzard’s fix goes a little too far

Blizzard then temporarily removed the heroes to fix the bugs. However, the studio made further mistakes in the process, because suddenly players could no longer access many other heroes.

Those who wanted to play a supporter, for example, only had Lucio, Mercy and Moira at their disposal. Also, many DPS characters were locked, while Torbjörn could still be selected despite the bug.

In the early hours of the morning, emergency maintenance was therefore carried out and the servers were taken offline for around an hour. All heroes – except Bastion and Torbjörn – should now be available again.
