Battlefield has a smartphone spin-off in development, which is now entering an open beta phase. We answer the most important questions about features, release and more here.
Huge multiplayer battles with tanks and helicopters, large-scale destruction with collapsing walls and entire facades, and all that on a smartphone? The idea of a Battlefield Mobile may sound unusual at first, to say the least. And yet the title has been in development for quite some time and is now being made available to larger groups of players for the first time in an open beta.
But so far it is only available in other regions. Find out when the beta could also come to us, what Battlefield Mobile can actually do and everything else about the game. Go to the individual sections right here:

When will Battlefield Mobile be released?
Battlefield Mobile was already released as an open beta on 8 November, but only in certain regions such as Indonesia and Thailand. Gradually, other regions will be able to join the test. However, there is no exact date for a release in Germany yet, information is to follow on the official website.
The beta is also limited to Android devices. When the time comes, you can register for Battlefield Mobile in the Google Playstore and then download the game there later.
We have already asked EA when we can expect a release! and will then add a potential answer to the article.
What does Battlefield Mobile offer?
Game Modes
In the beta you should be able to try out the following game modes:
- Conquest: The typical Battlefield experience, probably with large maps and vehicles, at least tanks are already confirmed for the game.
- Warpath: Here you have to advance on a frontline, maybe resembles Breakthrough as we know it from Battlefield.
- Rush: Sabotage or defend multiple objectives to win.
- Team Deathmatch: This is about collecting extra kills to generate points. The team that reaches a certain number of points first wins.
Furthermore, there are some special modes available that are not described in more detail. Some of them will be added later.
Maps
It is not yet clear how many maps there will be. However, maps from Battlefield 3, such as the Grand Bazaar or Noshahr Channels, are expected to return.
Squads and classes
Battlefield Mobile is not only a team shooter, but also wants to offer squad gameplay. So you can probably also team up with friends to dominate the battlefield together.
As is usually the case with Battlefield, there are also four classes to choose from, which will decide your weapon and gadget selection.
- (Assault Soldier): Likely to rely on offensive power and can use versatile assault rifles. Possibly can also be used as a medic.
- (Engineer): Probably specialises in repairing and destroying vehicles, has anti-tank weapons.
- (Utility): Probably supplies other players with ammunition and can equip light machine guns with high ammunition capacity.
- (Scout): Probably specialised in locating enemy units and ranged combat with sniper rifles.
Levelling up your profile unlocks new gadgets and abilities for the respective classes. Classes have played a major role in every Battlefield so far.
Destruction
Another familiar Battlefield feature. Apparently you can partially destroy buildings, walls and trees, which is quite impressive in the gameplay. Graphically, however, the mobile offshoot cannot keep up with the games for PC and console.
What does Battlefield Mobile cost?
Battlefield Mobile is to be offered as a free download. In the game you can then purchase a Battlepass or cosmetic objects such as skins for weapons and soldiers. However, you will not be able to buy any gameplay advantages.
What are the system requirements?
The game will be further optimised until the full release in order to be able to run on as many devices as possible. However, the following minimum requirements apply for the beta:
- System: Android 8.0 or newer, 64-bit system
- Processor: Snapdragon 835 or better/Exynos 9 (8895)
- Memory: 3 GB RAM
- Hard disk space: 2GB
In order to play the beta, you must also have a constant Internet connection.
