Square Enix and Luminous Productions have recently announced a video series for Forspoken. The series is intended to give you an introduction to the gameplay and story before the title’s release in January 2023. Part 3 of the series has now been published. This one invites you to a sprint through the magical land of Atheia.

Actually, Frey Holland has been living an ordinary life in New York. But one evening, through a portal, she arrives in the magical land of Atheia, which has been corrupted by the dark power of the Rupture. This is especially true of Atheia’s once benevolent protectors, the so-called Tantas. The rupture has turned them into cruel rulers whom Frey had better watch out for.

However, a partial power of the Tantas is contained in the so-called monuments, sacred stone buildings scattered all over the land. When Frey frees the monuments from their corruption, she can unlock mana and become more powerful.

You want to become stronger? Then tour Atheia!

But Forspoken has other tidbits to make exploring Atheia more fun. For example, Frey can learn new skills at the Blessing Springs that allow her to stand up to powerful enemies or move faster in the world. She can upgrade her magic with the help of special challenges. These can be activated through ancient books scattered around the land.

You will also be offered numerous dungeons in the form of locked labyrinths. These house not only malevolent enemies, but also powerful equipment. To be prepared for such undertakings, Frey can try out the game Patha, which gives her short-term buffs in battle.

Last but not least, Forspoken offers you a cuddly feature: the so-called familiars of the Tantas. These are cat-like creatures that can be found near places dedicated to them. However, they can be difficult to befriend.

Forspoken will be released on 24 January 2023 for PC and PlayStation 5.
