Just before Christmas, Steam will once again be releasing exciting insider tips from the genres of strategy, shooter and role-playing games.

At the (Game Awards 2022), a veritable fireworks display of strong new games was fired off for you to look forward to in 2023!

But you don”t have to wait until next year for some exciting releases, because this week there are some more insider tips on Steam.

The three highlights of the week

Master of Magic

(Genre: Strategy – Developer: MuHa Games, Eerie Forest Studios – Release: December 13, 2022 (get the game on Steam))

Master of Magic is the remake of the popular 4X strategy game from the 90s. Here you take on the role of a powerful magician – such as Merlin or the Hindu goddess Kali – and must conquer the game world in the best Civilization style with troops of elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons and other fantasy units.

High on Life

(Genre: Shooter – Developer: Squanch Games – Release: December 13, 2022 (get the game on Steam))

High on Life promises to be a real breath of fresh air in the shooter genre: As a good-for-nothing teenager, you are thrown into the middle of an alien invasion that you must single-handedly prevent.

Your only allies are your insect-like weapons, which not only have different abilities but also talk to you. Because Justin Roiland (the creator of Rick & Morty and Solar Opposites) is responsible for the story, you can expect plenty of crude humour.

By the way, High on Life will also be released directly in the Game Pass.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 – Reunion

Genre: Action Role-Playing Game – Developer: Square Enix – Release: December 13, 2022 (get the game on Steam)

Most of you might know the legendary story of Final Fantasy 7 around the characters Cloud, Sephiroth and Co. What happened before that, you can experience in the prequel Crisis Core in which you meet many old acquaintances and once again experience an emotionally rousing story.

The action role-playing game originally developed for the handheld console PSP finally makes it to the PC after 14 years as an opulent remaster. In addition to contemporary graphics, you can also expect an improved battle system, fully synchronised dialogue (in Japanese and English) and new music tracks.
