Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Leak reveals first details on Ranked Mode

Even though the Ranked Mode for Modern Warfare 2 is not planned until 2023, a leak has already revealed the first details.

A tweet by the leaker (CODSploitzImgs) that has since been deleted for copyright infringement has provided the first information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Mode.

Release not until 2023

Rumours were already doing the rounds in mid-October that Modern Warfare 2 would not only receive a Ranked Mode, but that it would also be developed by fan favourite Treyarch. A short time later, the studio confirmed the claims in a tweet and gave many fans hope for the imminent introduction.

While we didn t get to enjoy a ranked mode in its predecessor Vanguard until months after its release we expect Modern Warfare II to do it much faster, releasing as early as early 2023. Months ago, reliable CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope already confirmed that MW2 will get a ranked mode.

First details leaked

Even though the release of the rank mode is not planned until 2023, the CoD leaker CODSploitzImgs has already published first details on Twitter. The images he shared have since been deleted by Activision. However, we were able to take a look at them beforehand and derive important information from them.

• Players can reach several Skill Divisions (Ranks) in succession through victories and personal achievement.
• The SR (skill rating) decides after each match whether we are promoted or relegated.
• If we win three matches in a row, we are in a Hot Streak which changes our emblem and is active as long as we win.
• The skill divisions are reset with each new season. In total there seven different divisions. According to CoD leaker (TheGhostOfHope) these also already have names:
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • purple/crimson
  • Irisy
• Matches will be played in a 4v4 format where all modes, maps and rules of the CDL will be active.
• All essays not locked by the CDL will be unlocked in Ranked Mode, Friendly-Fire will be enabled as will penalties for leaving a match early.

Of course, as with any leak, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
