The Battle of Nordvik event will start in December. Find out what you can expect in Battlefield 2042 and which rewards you can earn here.
Battlefield 2042 wants to keep you busy over the holidays: An event with the dramatic name Battle of Nordvik is intended to ensure that, giving you three new game modes spread over the three weeks of the runtime. There are also rewards to be earned, such as soldier and weapon skins. We”ll summarise everything you need to know for you:

When does the event start?
The event starts on 20 December 2022 The event will then run for three weeks until 10 January 2023 An exact start time is not yet known, but the updates for Battlefield usually hit in the morning here. Those who are already on Christmas holiday will probably be able to get started then.
Which game modes can you try out?
In total, you will be able to try out three new game modes for a limited time. Each mode will be available for one week and will then be replaced by the next one. You will also always play on the new Season 3 map, Spearhead.
Week 1 – Attack on Nordvik
In the first week there is Storm Conquest
a variant of the Conquest mode with 64 players. The focus here shall be on rasp ground battles
. The following rules apply:
- The defending team holds all targets at the beginning, the attackers start with more tickets for it.
- The HQ spawn of the defenders is deactivated during the match, they can then only re-enter after death with squad members or a spawn vehicle.
- There are no planes or helicopters.
Week 2 – Defence of Nordvik
Week 2 continues with a mode that combines elements of Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush. Here 32 players battle for control of the Nordvik facility, the following rules apply:
- First, the attackers must fight their way from objective to objective as in Breakthrough,
- If they are successful, the game switches to Rush: The attackers must now destroy enemy radio stations by placing explosive devices there.
- As a defender, you mainly play for time and must try to get valuable data to safety before the attack.
Week 3 – Liberation of Nordvik
In the last week there will be maximum battlefield chaos with 128 players. You will then play a special variant of Breakthrough with additional modifiers:
- increased walk speed
- faster re-entries
- faster vehicle requests
What rewards are there?
Of course, hardworking players can also earn various soldier and weapon skins as rewards. Each week, you will need to earn a certain number of Order Ribbons for this, which will unlock various rewards. As with the last event, some new skins are only available for purchase, but there are now significantly more free rewards.
