Age of Wonders 4 is coming! A first teaser trailer reveals the release date and shows first gameplay insights at the very end. The big innovation of the fourth part: You can design your own faction and lead it to victory. In addition, the 4X title takes a leaf out of other genre vets such as Crusader Kings 3: With many events during the course of the game, the individual storytelling during a game is to be expanded significantly.

Other than that, however, the turn-based strategy game remains true to the series traditions: Triumph Studios and publisher Paradox Interactive promise tactically challenging battles with hexes as well as Civilization-like city management on the world map. There you ride around with your armies like in Heroes of Might and Magic, collect resources and challenge other heroes to a duel.

Your army leaders are also powerful wizards who can gain experience and learn magic spells; some of which change the game world and your soldiers. Age of Wonders 4 will be released on 2 May 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
