The latest World War Z content update arrives and adds a new game mode called Horde Mode XL alongside several other interesting new features.
Saber Interactive has released a new game mode called Horde Mode XL for its popular video game, World War Z. The new mode takes advantage of the power of the next-gen consoles and promises to offer players an intense and unique zombie-hunting experience.
World War Z is a third-person shooter video game set in the same universe as the one from the 2013 film of the same name. Players take on the role of a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies and must work together to survive the scary zombie hordes, scavenge for supplies, and complete different objectives. World War Z features a four-player Cooperative Campaign Mode (which can also be played solo with bots), a weekly PvE Challenge Mode, a classic wave-based Horde Mode, as well as several other competitive Multiplayer modes.
In order to hype gamers up, a YouTube video revealing the latest details about Horde Mode XL was released. Dubbed World War Z’s biggest update ever, the Horde Mode XL update introduces multiple new things beyond just the mode itself, such as new skins and perks for the weapon progression system, new Mutators for the standard Horde Mode Z, and two brand-new weapons – Sai Knives, and the Tri-Barrel Shotgun.
In Horde Mode XL, gamers are presented with a much bigger challenge than in the original Horde Mode Z. The hordes of zombies encountered in World War Z will be larger and more vicious than ever, as this time there can be over one thousand enemies concurrently on the screen.
The goal is to stay alive for as long as possible while preventing the zombies from reaching civilians, meaning World War Z players must employ their best strategies in order to do so, using their wits and their weapons to survive the onslaught of zombies and protect their teammates at all costs. Gathering supplies is also very important in this mode in order to boost defenses and give important advantages such as the ability to use rockets or explosive gas.
The Horde Mode XL update was released on January 24 and is only available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The newest mode aims to give gamers many additional hours of intense zombie-killing fun. With its unique and challenging gameplay, Horde Mode XL will likely keep World War Z’s fans entertained and coming back for more. Whether playing solo or with friends, the most recent game mode looks to provide an exciting gaming experience.
World War Z is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
