The new map Ashika Island is waiting in the wings. But how big is it in comparison to Rebirth Island or Fortunes Keep?
With the release of Season 2, the new resurgence map Ashika Island is already waiting for us in Warzone 2. We took a closer look at the map and compared it with other maps from Warzone.
The Golden Mean
As the new map Ashika Island was intended from the beginning as a map for the Resurgence mode, it is more similar in size to Rebirth Island and Fortunes Keep than Al Mazrah, Caldera or Verdansk.
Got Curious so…
Largest to Smallest Call of Duty BR Maps
Blackout ~ 8,234,173m^2 (2870m*2870m)
Al Mazra ~ 7,095,838m^2
Caldera ~ 6,405,025m^2
Verdansk ~ 5,835,157m^2
Fortunes Keep ~ 240,790m^2
Ashika Island ~ 222,002m^2
Rebirth ~ 152,865m^2 (391m*391m) pic.twitter.com/SHEazEd8Re– James – JGOD (@JGODYT) February 2, 2023
Warzone guru JGOD compared the different maps in a tweet and found out that Ashika Island, with a size of about 222,002 m², is between Rebirth Island (152,865 m²) and Fortunes Keep (240,790 m²). However, he points out that these are by no means exact values, but only estimates.
The still rather unknown content creator Deffsquid has also compared the three maps on Twitter and even impressively illustrated this with a graphic in which he superimposes Rebirth Island and Fortunes Keep on the new map Ashika Island.
Fewer POIs
Although the new and Japanese-themed map Ashika Island is quite a bit larger than Rebirth Island, it still has fewer POIs than the aging map from Warzone Caldera. While we can explore a total of eleven different POIs on Rebirth Island, there are only seven on Ashika Island so far.
The difference is even greater on Fortunes Keep, where even one more POI awaits us with 12 different locations. However, it can be assumed that new areas will be added to Ashika Island over time.
Similar to Fortunes Keep, Ashika Island also has areas that take us underground and this time we can even explore them by swimming.

The POIs on Ashika Island so far
Beach Club
At the southwestern end of the map is the Beach Club of Ashika Island. The terrain here is relatively open with few buildings that could hide useful loot.
However, due to its remoteness from the rest of the POIs, the beach could be a relatively relaxing place to replenish your inventory, especially at the beginning.
Town Center
Also located to the west of the map is the Town Center. In stark contrast to the Beach Resort, however, here we encounter dozens of buildings and winding alleys that will engage us in one or two classic melee battles.
The many buildings, some of which are several storeys high, offer good opportunities for looting and those who want immediate action should definitely pay a visit to the Town Centre.
Öganikku Farms
Oganikku Farms, or simply Farms, is located in the north-western part of Ashika Island and is mainly characterised by its many greenhouses spread around a larger main building. In addition, there is a transmission tower in the immediate vicinity, which can be climbed by a ladder and offers a good overview of the area.
The eight greenhouses and the warehouse promise a lot of loot and still offer good cover possibilities. The additional proximity to the Town Centre should make the Farms a popular jumping off point.
Port Ashika
Of course, no island should be without a real port, even if Ashika Island has one in miniature. However, if you are looking for a large container port with gigantic warehouses, you should rather look for it on Al Mazrah or Caldera.
Nevertheless, the tranquil harbour on Ashika Island offers enough opportunities for looting and covers a relatively large part of the map. In its vicinity is also Tsuki Castle and Shipwreck which offer further good options for looting.
Tsuki Castle
The massive Japanese castle Tsuki Castle is located pretty much in the middle of Ashika Island and not only looks fantastic, but is also the tallest building on the island. The huge grounds consist of several smaller buildings typical of the Japanese Middle Ages, which are topped by a multi-storey main building.
However, the walled courtyards of Tsuki Castle can quickly become a death trap and offer you hardly any retreat options in a firefight.
Residential
Located in the north of the map, the Residential POI consists of several three-storey buildings that together form a loose residential complex. Even though it looks relatively unspectacular, the place should contain a lot of loot due to its many individual rooms.
Its proximity to Tsuki Castle and Shipwreck also offers good escape options should you ever get too hot in the apartment complex.
Shipwreck
An ocean liner has run aground on the eastern end of Ashika Island and lost its precious cargo. Containers from the transport ship lie scattered all over the beach, forming a kind of mini-maze. Flashbacks to the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map Shipment are probably intended by the developers.
However, anyone planning to land here should bring a rope. The beach section is surrounded by a cliff, which offers few opportunities for a safe ascent.
