With Resident Evil: Death Island comes a new animated film based around the survival horror series. The story follows Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield two protagonists already known from the games. A zombie outbreak in San Francisco leads them to Alcatraz Island, where they are confronted with an unexplained infection.
The plot fits into canon and is set in 2015, after the events of Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Vendetta and before Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It is the fourth animated film in the Resident Evil universe overall, following Resident Evil: Vendetta and the miniseries Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.
The film is set to hit theatres in the summer of 2023 but an exact release date does not yet exist.
