A mod builds in about 7,000 voicelines for the dragon blood. However, these were not dubbed by a human, but created by an AI.
In Skyrim, we easily blow most enemies off their feet with our screams, ensure a cloudless sky or even subjugate dragons. In dialogues, however, we remain completely silent. A mod now wants to change that and gives our game characters their own voice.
Thousands of dialogue lines set to music
The mod called Dragonborn Voice Over is itself just a platform where others can upload their own voice packs created by an AI. The AI is trained with a human voice and then dubs all dialogue options from the main game. The mod developers have even provided a female voice, and you can see how it sounds in dialogues here:
Although the answers of our protagonists sometimes sound a bit wooden and every now and then a line of dialogue is missing, the mod, which is still in development, works pretty well overall. Hearing your own character speak certainly changes the feel of the game and should provide more immersion.
Can I download the mod?
The mod is (on Nexusmods) freely available, but currently only works with limitations: So far, there are only two English voices for a human protagonist available.or choose a male character, Argonian, Orc or Khajit, you will be left out in the cold for the time being.
However, the developers plan to create more voices in the future and improve the mod. They are also counting on the help of the community and emphasise that everyone is welcome to create their own voices. So it’s also quite possible that we’ll get more options soon.Have you got the urge to play Skyrim again, but want to experience something new for a change?
