On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), FUT Birthday will be celebrated as the next promo in FIFA 23 – including notable special cards.
On 19 March 2009, the starting gun sounded for the most popular and profitable mode the FIFA series has ever seen. FUT took over and very soon eclipsed the career mode & Co. in terms of player numbers. In FIFA 23 EA SPORTS celebrates the 14th anniversary, the FUT Birthday is supposed to be the next promo.
This is confirmed by the mostly reliable leaker Fut Sheriff, as he announced on Twitter on Monday. The FUT Birthday is supposed to follow the second team of fantasy FUT cards, which will be released in the packs next Friday. So the widely anticipated March 17 release date is looking more and more likely.
Two teams – and a swaps programme?
But what will the remake of one of the most eagerly awaited FUT events bring players? For starters, as per tradition, there’s a two-week promo in the offing – which also means two special card teams for the packs. These items will probably be supplemented by mini releases, SBCs and objectives.
According to the experience of FIFA 22 and the current FUT season, FUT Birthday should also bring with it a swap programme that promises to collect and exchange tokens for special cards, special packs and other rewards. Apart from the date, the only thing that seems to have been confirmed so far is the card design, the leak of which has already met with approval on social media.
CR7 back in FUT Birthday top?
The most pressing question, however, remains: Which players will be given FUT Birthday objects? The leak sparrows are not yet whistling concrete names from the rooftops. In FIFA 22, some world-class professionals who had flown under the radar in FUT so far were awarded with FUT Birthday cards – from Cristiano Ronaldo to Manuel Neuer to Toni Kroos.
A similar procedure is to be expected for the FUT Birthday in FIFA 23, accordingly CR7 is once again considered a hot candidate. The top strikers Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema have also not yet experienced a flood of special cards. In addition to raised overall ratings, FUT Birthday players are also in for upgrades to skill moves and/or weak feet.
