EA’s football simulation will no longer carry the name FIFA from this year on. Here you can find everything you need to know about EA Sports FC

The long-standing relationship between FIFA and EA Sports is over. Electronic Arts loses the naming rights. So the successful FIFA series will have a new name from this year: EA Sports FC. Maybe with a 24 at the end – maybe not.

When will EA Sports FC be released?

An exact date is not yet known. However, the developer announced to provide more information this summer. Based on past releases of the FIFA series, a release end of September or early October seems likely.

What game modes will be included?

The developers promise that little will change in the usual experience. All game modes you know from the FIFA parts will remain part of EA Sports FC. The most important ones are probably Ultimate Team, the Career ModePro Clubs and VOLTA Football

So you don’t have to do without anything. On the contrary – the possibilities are set to grow:

  • Bump
  • EA Ultimate Team
  • Online Seasons
  • Tournaments
  • Pro Clubs
  • VOLTA Exhibition
  • Arena
  • Online Career Mode
  • Women’s Career Mode

That brings the total to three new modesthat are circulating in the discussion about EA Sports FC.

What happens to the licences?

Ahead of the game: Your favourite leagues will stay with you. EA keeps the partnerships and delivers exclusive licenses with the Bundesliga, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A as well as the MLS. At least that is what it says in a press release. According to statements by the developer, further licences are to follow.

EA Sports FC comes with a range of over 19,000 players, more than 700 teams, over 100 stadiums and 30 leagues. In total, fans of the series can look forward to the cumulative package of more than 300 licensing partners, who are to represent the football complex together.

Will there be any innovations?

In addition to the new game modes, women are to make their way into the Ultimate Team mode, according to FIFA leakers. It would be the first football simulation from EA in which you can include women in your dream team.

It is not yet clear from the reports whether the Women’s Ultimate Team mode (WUT) will appear separately or be integrated into the familiar men’s Ultimate Team. If you want to know more about WUT: Our editor Aykut has thought about pros and cons

But that’s not all: Leaks claim Ultimate Team will receive further revisions and Pro Clubs will include Cross Play integrated.
