The cyberpunk adventure Neo Berlin 2087 takes you to the futuristic German capital. The first trailer is met with mixed feelings.
German cities are rarely used as locations in games – at least when they are not set during the Second World War. Neo Berlin 2087 is now supposed to fill the gap. The Berlin studio Elysium Games has now published a first gameplay trailer:
What”s behind Neo Berlin 2087?
The shooter is said to be a first- and third-person role-playing game where we trudge through a gritty future version of Berlin as a detective. According to Steam, the story will deal with justice, friendship, love, guilt, sacrifice and betrayal – so there should be a lot of themes in this thriller.
But we already know a little more: The police chief has been found dead, his daughter has disappeared. We slip into the role of the enigmatic detective Nolan, who is supposed to find the missing person. The rich-poor divide in the year 2087 is clearly noticeable. The wealthy rule the city and live in pure luxury, while the rest of society has to fight for food in slums.
If the studio Elysium Games doesn”t ring a bell, it”s no wonder: the team has only been around since 2019, and Neo Berlin 2087 is their first project In order to strengthen the German gaming industry, the studio is funded by the state as well as the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
The first opinions on Neo Berlin 2087
On the one hand, Neo Berlin 2087 is graphically impressive – the resolution is crisp and some projectiles fly through the area impressively. This lets the potential of the Unreal Engine 5 used here shine through. Nevertheless, the trailer doesn”t look quite round. This is largely due to the low frame rate, believes Poised Stool:

Neo Berlin 2087 doesn t have an exact release date yet, only 2024 is given as the time period. In addition to the PC, it is also to be released on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
