24 teams at the last CS:GO Major

Before the big jump to Counter-Strike successor, the best 24 teams in the world compete one last time for the crown and the honor of being the last CS:GO champion to end the era. Now that qualifying is complete, the following teams have made it through:

Unfortunately there will be no German team in France BIG narrowly missed qualifying after losses to Vitality, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and finally Cloud 9, who then fell to FaZe Clan

However, German players are still competing: JDC at MOUZ and also G2s Coach Swani are both competing in Paris.

When will the Paris Major take place?

The games will start on May 8 in the French capital First the Challengers Stage in which the 16 unseeded teams will fight for a place in the Legends Stage

This is where the eight playoff participants will be determined from May 13 onwards. From May 18 onwards, the Accor Arena in Paris will be the venue for the final Major title in CS:GO. The grand final is on Sunday, May 21.

Which streams can you watch the tournament on?

BLAST will be streaming the games live on their (Twitch channel). So tune in then in May to make sure you don’t miss anything.

What format will be played at the major?

The well-known Swiss-System from the previous stage will also be used in Paris for the Challengers and Legends Stage. The 16 teams in each stage will try to win three matches to qualify for the next stage. If they lose three matches, they have to pack their bags. The deciding matches are best-of-3 series.

In the playoffs (Champions Stage), the final eight will then face each other in a simple knockout tournament to determine the last Major champion. Again, the matches are best-of-3 series.

Which maps are in the map pool?

The Major uses the standardized Valve Map-Pool. So the following maps are available:

  • Anubis
  • Inferno
  • Mirage
  • Nuke
  • Overpass
  • Vertigo
