The beta of XDefiant has exceeded all expectations and has now even been extended by a few days.

Call of Duty has to dress warmly. The new Free2Play shooter XDefiant was more than well received and could not only attract a surprisingly large number of players in its beta, but also convinced streamers and FPS professionals alike.

Beta will be extended

The beta of Ubisoft’s new arena shooter XDefiant can be considered a complete success. As the official Twitter account of the potential CoD killer announced on April 20, over a million players have participated in the beta of XDefiant, exceeding all expectations.

Unlike Call of Duty, however, these fantastic player numbers were not due to a huge event in Las Vegas, to which the crème de la crème of the streaming scene was flown in, but only to a relatively unspectacular online beta.

The beta was scheduled to end on April 23, but due to the unexpectedly high demand, the developers have now even decided to extend it until April 25 and give players even more time for feedback and suggestions for improvement.

It remains to be seen whether Ubisoft, unlike the Call of Duty developers, will listen more to their community and not only respect the feedback, but also implement it in the game.

If the free2play shooter gets it right, it could become a serious threat to Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.
