Together with Ascendant Studios EA is currently working on a shooter project, which already has the potential to be the most beautiful game of the next few years. In Immortals of Aveum it goes with different magic schools in the fight against a sinister tyrant. Now we finally have first detailed gameplay of the single player magic shooter from the first person perspective
In Immortals of Aveum we enter the world of the young mage Jak and become a master of magic. With 25 different spells and 80 magical talents in the three different magic types Force (Blue), Life (Green), Jak develops into a veritable magic wrecking ball within the tight campaign and classic shooter experience. Nothing seems to be safe from our attacks. Combining the various magic schools into powerful, large-scale, devastating attacks looks like such incredible fun.
But that’s not all, as the latest preview also shows how you can combine your magic tricks into powerful chain attacks. Alongside this, you can also see a number of the most dangerous enemies that Jak will have to face off against.
Familiar gameplay principle in a new look
The whole thing is reminiscent of a classic Call of Duty shooter, also due to the use of magic as long-range weapons and the imposing staging. This is only logical when you consider that part of Ascendant’s team has also worked on CoD in the past. Bursts of fire, weapon/magic switching, quick navigation between enemies and areas. Clearly Immortals is going to be a spectacular ride!
The graphics in Immortals of Aveum are breathtaking and clearly the main argument for the triple A game. The dynamic lighting systems Lumen and Nanite are particularly noteworthy here. They give the gameplay scenes an incredibly realistic and bombastic impression. The powerful Unreal Engine 5 is used as the engine. Soon, when Immortals of Aveum is released in July 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, you’ll be able to unleash your magical abilities and prove yourself in an epic adventure!
