RoboCop: Rogue City doesn”t just want to offer pure action. As it turns out, there are also some role-playing elements in the title.

So far RoboCop: Rogue City has shown more of an action side. In the trailer above, for example, the cyborg single-handedly dismantles an entire gang of criminals. The gameplay consists not only of a lot of shooting, but also has some role-playing elements to offer.

In IGN”s preview of Rogue City, some new content and information is revealed that was previously unknown. The shooter is not only supposed to give you short pleasure, but 20 to 30 hours – just for the campaign. Additionally, you can expect side missions to bring law and order to the cyberpunk city. Rogue City is set between the second and third RoboCop films.

These role-playing elements are included in RoboCop Rogue City:

  • Skills and Armour: Of course, a cyborg must constantly improve, so you can also upgrade your skills as well as your protective armour throughout the game.
  • Freedom of choice: You can choose for yourself whether to leave a bloodbath in your wake or come to the end as a pacifist. You can also make decisions in the dialogues – they also lead to different endings waiting for you.
  • True Police Work: You”re not only responsible for the rough stuff, the rest of a cop”s tasks also fall to you. Investigating crime scenes, following up clues, arresting criminals – the only thing you (probably) won”t have to do is the paperwork.

RoboCop: Rogue City is scheduled for release later this September for the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Are you already looking forward to a new RoboCop story or is the classic from the 80s already a bit rusty in your eyes? And what do you think of the role-playing mechanics – suitable or rather annoying? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
