Developer Striking Distance plans to wrap up its horror game Callisto Protocol with a final story DLC before the end of June appeared first on Playstation.

Since the release of Callisto Protocol in early December 2022, the survival horror title has been quiet. The game, which was supposed to be the spiritual successor to the genre classic Dead Space for the developers at Striking Distance, was plagued by numerous technical errors upon its release and failed to build up the same hype as its big brother.

Now the developers have announced a big Story DLC that will also herald the end of Callisto Protocol. For the expansion will be the first with new story content, but overall the last for the space horror cabinet.

What can you expect?

On Twitter, the developers announced that the new addon will be appropriately named Final Transmission Nothing is yet known about the content of the expansion – but heart palpitations are guaranteed.

With the tweet, the developers released a 20-second teaser that gives us a first glimpse of the addon, but without really revealing much about its story. The tweet also contains the announcement that Final Transmission will first be released exclusively for PlayStation consoles.

When will Final Transmission be released?

However, this temporal exclusivity is not really far off – we are talking about just 48 hours. While Playstation players can take off again on 27 June for the mutant-infested Jupiter moon Callisto, Final Transmission will also be released on all other platforms on 29 June.

After the release of the last Callisto expansion, the team around Dead Space creator Glen Schofield should then turn to new eerie projects. So we can be curious about the future.

What do you think of Callisto Protocol? Did you enjoy the main game and are you looking forward to the upcoming expansion Final Transmission? Or do you belong to the faction of those whose toenails roll up at the mere mention of horror games? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
