New expansion for Guild Wars 2 announced. Coming in August: Secrets of the Obscure!

ArenaNet and NCSOFT have announced the fourth expansion for Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure will be released on August 22, 2023 and will offer new gameplay features and adventures in the so long lasting and fantastic MMORPG world

Players will be immersed in the mysterious world of the Wizard’s floating tower, which has fascinated for more than two decades. The expansion includes two new explorable areas, two attack missions and more gameplay features. Future content will be added for free to expand the gameplay experience. This 4th expansion has the potential to be the biggest and best yet for Guild Wars 2 and its community.

The new storyline turns players into defenders and explorers of the unknown who must save the world from an unseen threat. The adventure begins with a climb through the Skywatch Archipelago, the first of two new maps. Players battle the demonic Kryptis and then advance into the Demon Realm.

The expansion features new maps, the Wizard’s Tower as a starting point, the Astral Guard as an ally, the Heart of the Obscure as a key tool. You can also access advanced flight masteries, new attack missions and the Wizard’s Vault for rewards, relics and customisation.Expanded weapon master training and new rewards like legendary armour round out this Guild Wars 2 expansion. Meaning dozens and hundreds of hours of content to play as usual alone or with your guild and friends.

Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure is now available for pre-sale and includes bonus items. There are Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate editions that include additional exclusive items and gems.
